WELCOME TO THE TOWN OF LINWOOD
The Town of Linwood was first known as Linden,
a tree of soft white wood, heart-shaped leaves, and cream colored flowers
(also known as Basswood or Tilia Americana L.)
Our first town meeting was held the second Monday in December 1856.
On May 15th, 1857 , the town of Linden petitioned the County Board
to change its name to Linwood which was granted.
The Town of Linwood has a total area of 33.8 square miles,
of which 31.9 square miles are land, and 1.8 square miles are water.
U.S. Census Bureau data places our 2010 population at 1,121
Our town board is comprised of 5 town board members
